AmeriCorps

Are you interested in teaching? Love working with youth? Do you want to develop as an education professional in youth leadership? Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area is looking for AmeriCorps members to join us for the 2015-2016 service year!

AmeriCorps is a national service organization dedicated to getting things done for America! Each year, more than 80,000 AmeriCorps members assist with community service projects at upwards of 15,000 locations across all 50 states. To learn more about the AmeriCorps programs in Texas, visit our state service commission, OneStar AmeriCorps Academic Success Coaches will be placed at a local Boys & Girls Club to provide homework help and small group tutoring for a group of 20 at-risk youth ages 6 to 16. In addition to providing homework help, AmeriCorps Academic Success Coaches will build connections with local schools and act as an advocate to ensure on time grade progression and comprehensive academic support. Our service year runs from September 8th to June 3rd with members serving between 20 to 25 hours per week.
