Cheers to our new community partners, Lazarus Brewing Company!

Sep 25, 2020

Meet Rebekah Daniels, owner/senior brewer at Lazarus Brewing Company in East Austin. She, along with her husband, AJ and her co-owner/parents Christian & Marilyn Cryder, have pledged to address racial injustice in every aspect of their business from pay equality among their staff to supporting Austin’s community through profits from selected craft beers, brewed right inhouse.

Life Together Brew: A Marriage of Souls. A Marriage of Cause and Passion.

Like so many other couples who planned to get married in 2020, Rebekah and AJ’s dream wedding slated for this summer had to be dramatically altered due to COVID-19.  Opting for a smaller, backyard event, Rebekah and AJ still wanted to commemorate their momentous day the best way they knew how: by creating a special brew dedicated to their life journey together and passion for equality and social justice. One of their first connections was over their love of learning and a belief that access to a quality education is a key factor for a successful life. It only seemed natural that their special brew would support a local non-profit organization dedicated to providing high-quality educational programming to Austin’s youth, like Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area (BGCAA). Combining their love of brewing and philanthropy they created Life Together, an American pale ale specialty brew of which all proceeds would benefit BGCAA.

“Buried away in my notebook was a recipe for our wedding: I had dreamed

of brewing this special beer to share with my husband and our friends. We

decided that Life Together not only summed up our marriage philosophy,

but also everything we’ve hoped and dreamed of for this neighborhood we

call home - East Austin! So we chose to donate all the profits to the

Austin Boys and Girls Club, an amazing nonprofit making progress right

in our backyard.” – Rebekah Daniels

This small-batch craft brew helped raise almost $8,000 in proceeds, which Lazarus Brewing Company generously donated to provide critical educational resources to BGCAA Club Members. We are grateful to Lazarus Brewing Company for their generosity and community-minded philosophy. High-five to new partners and a Life Together of providing Great Futures!
