Teen Task Force Celebrates & Honors Graduating BGCAA Teens

May 27, 2019

On May 23 the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area Teen Task Force hosted its first ever Teen Night at our new Home Club on the Sheth Family Campus. Culminating the 2018-2019 school year, about 90 teens from the Boys & Girls Club at Chalmers Court, the Webb Middle School, Del Valle High School, Lanier High School and LBJ High School Clubs were welcomed for Teen Night events.

BGCAA graduating seniors were honored and celebrated during Teen Night events, which included a variety of fun activities along with dinner.

Adding to the overall celbration, two representatives from Tacala Companies dropped by to speak with teens in attendance. While there, they awarded Alexis J., a Club member at LBJ High School, with a $5,000 scholarship. Alexis has been a Club member with BGCAA since 2010, and attended the Boys & Girls Club at Overton Elementary before matriculating to LBJ. Since graduating high school she plans to attend Langston University, double majoring in physical therapy and business. Congratulations, Alexis!

Our sincere appreciation to Tacala Companies for their generous support of our graduating member. Huge kudos to ALL of the BGCAA senior graduates this year! We are proud beyond measure to stand witness to your accomplishments and growth into adulthood. Once a Club member, always a Club member–stay in touch!
