Jay Hartzell, the 30th President of The University of Texas at Austin
Jay has led UT Austin with remarkable vision and dedication since 2020, driving initiatives to elevate UT’s status as the world’s highest-impact public research university.
As a former dean of UT’s McCombs School of Business, President Hartzell brings extensive expertise in academia and finance to the forefront. Learn more about President Hartzell:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration and economics from Trinity University
- Ph.D in finance from UT
- Renowned scholar with research published in leading journals
- Active involvement in community service, serving on various boards including MGIC Investment Corporation and Austin Habitat for Humanity
