This June, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area proudly unveiled the newly renovated outdoor basketball court at the Sheth Family Campus—made possible by the incredible generosity of the Harrison and Brittany Barnes Community Fund.
The transformation marks more than just a physical upgrade. For our Club youth, this new space is a symbol of opportunity, confidence, and community. From friendly games to focused drills, it’s where future leaders will continue to grow—on and off the court.
We were honored to welcome Harrison Barnes, NBA player and proud Boys & Girls Club alum, for the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Joined by BGCAA CEO Zenae Campbell, Harrison spoke to our youth about perseverance, giving back, and the vital role that supportive spaces play in helping kids thrive.

“I grew up in a Boys & Girls Club and a lot of their experiences are my experiences so I hope I can enhance the facility they have and let them know that someone is thinking about them.” said Barnes. “I think continuing the tradition of being a Spurs player and giving back to the community is important.”

After the ribbon-cutting, Club youth laced up and hit the court for an exciting day with the Spurs Sports Academy, who ran drills and helped young athletes sharpen their skills. Energy soared when the one and only Spurs Coyote made a surprise appearance, bringing laughter and high-fives to kids across the court.
“It’s like I’m living a dream because like I’m his biggest fan. I wished one day to meet him and then all of a sudden like, I was here, and I met him!”
Thank you to Harrison and Brittany Barnes for believing in our mission and investing in the next generation of leaders. With every bounce of the ball, our youth are reminded that great futures start here.

“We’re incredibly grateful to Harrison and Brittany Barnes for their investment in our youth and our community,” said Zenae Campbell, CEO.
“This renovated court is more than just a place to play. It’s a space where our kids will build confidence, discover new passions, and learn what it means to be part of a team. Basketball needs Club Kids too!”
