Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area (BGCAA) is proud to welcome Raj Doshi as our new Board Chair, following the successful completion of Mario Zambrano’s term. This leadership transition marks an exciting new chapter for our organization as we continue expanding access to safe, supportive, and impactful out-of-school-time programs for Austin-area youth.
Introducing Raj Doshi
An active Board member since 2022, Raj has been instrumental in shaping the organization’s 2027 Great Futures Strategic Ambition, helping set bold goals, focus resources, and align programs, staff, and supporters around a shared vision of creating bigger, better, and bolder futures for every young person.
“I am humbled to have the opportunity to work with an immensely talented staff and a passionately engaged board to advance the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area’s mission of enabling Austin’s youth to reach their full potential,” said Raj.
Raj brings a powerful combination of strategic leadership, operational expertise, and a deep commitment to mission-driven work. His career spans senior leadership roles across technology, finance, and consulting, with a consistent focus on growth, innovation, and impact—expertise that helped guide the creation of the Great Futures Strategic Ambition and will continue to shape BGCAA’s future.
When Raj is not championing youth development for BGCAA, he serves as the President and Chief Operating Officer of April, an AI-powered tax software platform that empowers banks, financial technology companies, and payroll systems to help Americans optimize and file their taxes.
Prior to April, Raj served as Chief Growth and Marketing Officer at Blucora, the parent company of Avantax and TaxAct, and previously led sales and business development at Updater. He also held leadership roles at Google and McKinsey & Company. Read more about Raj’s background here.
In addition to his professional experience, Raj is deeply engaged in philanthropy and nonprofit leadership. He currently serves on the board of Charity Navigator, helping provide donors with free access to data, tools, and resources to guide informed charitable giving.
Looking Ahead
As Board Chair, Raj will work closely with CEO Zenae Campbell, the Board of Directors, and staff leadership to advance the organization’s strategic vision, strengthen community partnerships, and ensure BGCAA continues to meet the evolving needs of the youth and families we serve.
