On Wednesday, July 16, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area hosted its second annual Spelling Bee Championship at the Austin Central Library. Young wordsmiths from Clubs across the city took the stage to demonstrate their dedication, confidence, and growing love for learning—all in front of cheering families, staff, and fellow competitors.
This year’s Spelling Bee brought together 28 talented Club members from grades 2 through 8, each showcasing not only their spelling skills but also the confidence and perseverance they’ve built through programs at Boys & Girls Clubs.
Before the competition kicked off, Club members huddled together, practicing their words and encouraging one another with supportive smiles. The excitement built as spellers went head-to-head in tense rounds, holding the audience in suspense as they battled it out for the championship title.
