Austin Youth Represent Local Boys & Girls Clubs at National Keystone Conference This Weekend

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area (BGCAA) is excited to send 17 bright young leaders to the National Keystone Conference, a youth leadership event that is annually hosted by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. This year marks the 51st National Keystone Conference taking place at Georgia State University in Atlanta from June 22nd to the 24th.

The National Keystone Conference brings together Boys & Girls Club teens and members from across the globe, especially those involved in Keystone Club. Throughout the conference, our teens will engage and socialize with peers, explore relevant issues, and develop skills to support and enhance efforts to grow as leaders in their local Boys & Girls Clubs and communities.

Keystone Club provides leadership development opportunities for Boys & Girls Club youth ages 14 to 18.  In Keystone, youth participate in activities that focus on three core areas of development: academic success, career preparation, and community service all correlated to the core pillars of development reinforced by the Boys & Girls Clubs. At BGCAA, Club teens who are involved in Keystone constantly do volunteer work and are involved in democratic and social issues that impact youth. The goal for Keystone is to ensure our Club teens develop their character and leadership skills, as well as acquire opportunities for their journey ahead toward building great futures.

We look forward to hearing back from our 17 youth as they attend the National Keystone Conference this month! Stay tuned for more updates.
