What an experience!

In late March, NASCAR invited several BGCAA youth to attend the NASCAR Cup Series at Circuit of the Americas in Austin. In addition to getting up-close access to the race itself, youth were given a behind-the-scenes tour of race operations.

NASCAR officials took BGCAA kids to the medic center, where they got to peek inside the emergency helicopter and were given an overview of the health procedures the medical team performs when drivers need to be examined for injuries.

They were also able to meet racecar driver Ryan Blaney, Mexican actress and singer Melissa Barrera, and other drivers and celebrities!

For viewing the race, youth were given headsets and radios on the sidelines, so they could listen in to the drivers on the track.
